# Customize meeting summaries

> Choose a named format or customize how Auto writes meeting summaries.

Use a named template when you want fixed sections. Customize Auto when you want to control Anarlog's default summary prompt.

## Choose a template

Open a meeting and use the template picker beside **Summary**. Templates can emphasize decisions, action items, a one-on-one format, or another structure.

Changing the selected template does not rewrite an existing summary automatically. Regenerate the summary to apply the new template.

## Customize Auto

1. Open **Settings → Templates**.
2. Select **Auto**.
3. Edit the prompt, then click **Save**.

For example:

The editor shows the complete system prompt used by Auto. Use the **Current date** and **Language** chips wherever those values should appear.

Meeting notes, transcript, session details, and participants are always sent separately. Editing the Auto prompt cannot remove that source material.

The Auto prompt applies only when **Auto** is selected. Named templates continue to use their configured sections and do not inherit the Auto customization. Use **Reset to Anarlog default** to restore the built-in prompt.

## Improve names and specialized terms

Under **Settings → Dictionary**, add names, acronyms, product names, and other terms that transcription often gets wrong.

The dictionary helps recognition, but it does not replace choosing the correct spoken languages or a model that supports them. See [Languages](/languages) for multilingual meetings.

## Apply your changes

New summaries use the currently selected format. Regenerate an older summary when you want it to use the latest template or Auto prompt.
